Glauber Fernandes is a widely respected young master of the Capoeira art-form. Born in Brazil, he spent the last decade in the U.S. dedicating his life to the practice and spreading of Capoeira in the U.S. and abroad.
Mr. Fernandes has decades of experience in the many elements of Capoeira, from the physical to the musical. His master, with whom Glauber began his Capoeira training in 1982, is Mestre Suíno( Elto Pereira de Brito), the greatly respected head of Grupo Candeias( an international Capoeira organization with thousands of members). Other important names that contributed to Glaubers formation are: Mestre Marujo( Willer Miranda Guimarães), Mestre Ilustre( Rubens dos Santos Silva) e Professor Marrom( Juracy da Silva Guimarães), all disciples of Mestre Suíno.
Mestre Glauber majored in Physical Education in 1994 at the ESEFEGO( Escola Superior de Educação Física do Estado de Goiás) in Goiânia, Go Brazil, and speaks conversational English and Spanish, as well as his native Portuguese. He has taught and performed in several public and private schools in Brazil and in the U.S. and traveled to many countries to perform Capoeira, lecture and teach workshops.
His years of experience and lineage provide him with a vast knowledge of Capoeira history, and a great deal of connections and resources within the Capoeira world.
